This from our friend in Silicon Valley regarding what's likely in store for Apple over the next year.
Bear in mind as we remarked in yesterday's post (see below) many of these bellweather tech stocks have quietly slid 25-30% without many people noticing.
Apple is likely to experience a drop in overall PC sales during the switch over to Intel chips
The company is putting a lot of faith into it's new dual-core system (2 chips = better power management and faster speeds)
The real kicker with these new PCs is again Apple's forte - design
The LCD screen is very good, beautiful design and there is no 'box' the whole PC is built into the screen
Software developers are working hard to reprogram their applications for the new intel chips but this will continue to take the rest of the year
A new G5 tower replacement due out this autumn running on the Intel, so far its a massive improvement in almost every dept.
Initial benchmark tests suggests it blows AMD out of the water
Towards the end of the year also expect a 4" widescreen video iPod
Summary
Short term there's not much bullish news to get the stock going (assuming the overall market doesn't go through the roof). But after the summer expect the positive news flow to heat up considerably.
