One of the problems with investing in the Gold/Silver sector is do you go for stocks or the physical metal, or a combination of both?
Buying physical gold is easy but there's usually a 5% premium on coins and small bars. And in the UK there's no point in buying Silver because it attracts VAT at a whopping 17.5%.
The other problem with buying the physical is that you can't get in/out that quickly.
Many investors get around the problem by investing in the Central Fund of Canada which is non-leveraged and holds about 50/50 of it's assets in physical gold and silver.
It trades both on the New York (CEF) and Toronto (CEF.NV.A) stockmarkets hence giving investors a choice of currency.
