Easy Alan Greenspan retires from the Fed tomorrow with a legacy that is intact for now. But when money is involved and losses in the future are generated people will always look for a scapegoat.
Remember what happened to Jack Welch of General Electric when he left, his reputation basically got trashed as GE's stock price went down. Will the same fate await Greenspan over the next several years?
Ben 'Helicopters' Bernanke will be the new Fed Chairman which in itself is a political appointment. If you can bet on one thing it's this, Bernanke will not be ' taking away the punchbowl as the party gets started' . This being the true roll of the Federal Reserve as famously stated by past Chairman William McChesney Martin.
