This blog is written by 2-3 contributing editors all of who are working in London's financial district the City.
It's aim is to produce worthwhile news and comments on a whole range of topics all relating to the financial markets. And in particular UK and US stockmarkets and the associated economics (but no theory!).
Almost all of the major financial vehicles are discussed from plain vanilla stocks, Contracts for Difference (CFDs), futures, options and foreign exchange.
It is the writers theory that in the present day markets it is imperative to know and understand how all of these tools work alongside how profits and losses are generated.
For example, you might not use leverage or want to short the market in your trading/investing. But there will be a day in the future when a leveraged trade on the short side is perfect, especially if the risk/reward stacks right up in your favour.
If you don't know about some of these tools then financial spread betting is an excellent training ground. You can open an account with a £100 and really get to grips with some of these exciting tools.
Good luck with your trading and investing and we hope you enjoy this stockmarket blog
